Traveling within Uganda is very safe and quick. There are diverse means of transport with which you can reach out to all parts of the country. Despite Bwindi Impenetrable National Park being distant, reaching the park sectors is quick made possible by various means of transport available.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas, which make it a best gorilla destination. The park is divided into four different sectors of Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija and Nkuiringo all open to visitors. Upon the confirmation of every gorilla safari, the next question is how to get to the national park. Duration is roughly 9-10 hours’ drive from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.  Also, you can travel via Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to climbing lions connecting to Buhoma sector this can be an added advantage though it’s time consuming.   • Kampala – Kabale through Kanungu /Butogota to Ruhija or Buhoma – 9-10hours- 390km tarmac, 82km murram (road surface).
  • Kampala – Kabale – Kisoro – Nkuringo or Rushaga- 9-10hours
  • Kampala – Kabale – Rushaga or Nkuringo  9-10hours
  • Kabale – Bwindi – 105km- 4 hours
  • Queen Elizabeth NP through Kihihi  4-6 hours.
  • Lake Mburo NP  4-6 hours.

Alternatively, Visitors to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park can use air transport. Chatter flights are available from kanjassi airstrip in Entebbe to any airstrip in kabale or kisoro as the districts Bwindi National Park can be accessed. Those trekking to Buhoma and Ruhija fly to kihihi airstrip from which they easily connect to these sectors while those trekking to Rushaga fly from kajansi to kisoro airstrip. Also, visitors can fly from kanjassi to kayonza air strip in Mbarara from where they can be picked and proceed to one of the sectors of the park.
